Denfly competition carbon javelin's affordability have made the benefits of carbon javelins available to more than just elite throws. Carbon flexes but then returns to its original structure almost 50% faster than metal. Pole vaulters have been using carbon for years because the poles “recoil” faster than any other material and that same characteristic makes carbon ideal for javelin as well. Throwers who don’t throw perfectly ’through the point’ create a ‘wobble’ or ‘wag’ which creates a larger wind resistance profile and that increases distances.
