Our kids really liked these spikes. They are noticeably lighter than steel spikes but not as durable. They did dull much faster than steel spikes so I got to where we only used them for our high school kids who took their shoes off between events. None of our kids had seen colored spikes before. I purchased red and gold. It was fun for them to wear them. I used them as a kind of reward. I put them in all of our boys’ mile relay shoes before the finals of the regional meet. Of course, aluminum spikes don’t actually make them run faster but they felt special, ran well and finished third with the fastest time all season by 5 seconds. To sum up: These probably don’t help you run faster but they are a fun change up for kids who have worked hard.
