How many do you need? In a worst case scenario, a good timer using a photo based timing system can tell which runners are where in laned races (races that finish in lanes, i.e. 400m or less) by looking at his photo so you would only need numbers for distance races (800m and up). However, its nice to have them on ALL races. Most HS dual meets can get by with sets of 100. Any meet with over 4 schools should order rolls of 250.

Proper use: Instruct your stringer to add each tag immediately, do not collect them in their hands, they will slip out and get dropped. Once they are on the stringer they will not fall off. If a tags hole is ripped, pole the tip through the tag (or entire bib if necessary). If a tag/bib is totally lost, tell them to double-poke the previous tag so the timer knows there was a missing tag, then follow up to find the missing runners info.

Increase the height of your tripod with the ET-02 Tripod Extension Tube from Sunwayfoto. This extension tube screws onto your tripod plate's 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 screw to add up to 16.7" to its maximum height. Once you are done shooting, collapse the tube to 10" for simpler transport.

This 2-section tube is operated by a simple twist lock, and the mounting screw can be attached under the tripod head or directly into the camera. The tube is constructed of carbon fiber material, which makes it corrosion-resistant. This material also keeps the extension tube at a modest 5 ounces, making it easy to carry and use. A load capacity of 22 lb and a 1.5" top plate diameter allow for a wide variety of camera equipment to be mounted.
