Use the Runners Calculator to achieve your goals by knowing in just a touch of some buttons the splits needed to achieve your goal times. Coaches can monitor athletes quickly and correctly, even while “in” race. When training, runners need to learn to dominate small segments of the overall race goal distance. The Runners Calculator will help do just that.

The Runners Calculator features (4) Modes: 1) Calculator 2) Projection 3) Athlete and 4) Stopwatch
Calculator mode:
Choose CALCULATOR mode and then ENTER. Display will show 0. Enter goal race time, press ENTER. Enter goal race distance, press ENTER. Enter desired split distance, press ENTER and goal split time will appear. This mode allows users to decipher a goal distance into splits needed to run that goal distance. A quick and easy way to figure out workouts or to monitor athletes while racing.
Examples:
Runner wants to know the 400 meter split needed to run a 15:00 5K. On Runners Calculator enter 1500 then ENTER. Distance will now appear, Press the 5K button, then ENTER. Split will appear. Press the 400 meter button. Press the EQUALS button, Runners Calculator will display: 1:12, this is the average time needed for each 400m split to achieve a 15:00 5K.

Marathon runner wants to run a 2 hour 38 minute marathon and needs to know what his mile pace should be. On Runners Calculator press 23800 then ENTER. Distance will appear, Press the 26.2 mile button then ENTER. Split will appear. Press the 1mile button and EQUALS button. Runners Calculator will display 6:02. Press CLR to reset and figure a new calculation.

Use the Runners Calculator to find splits for any event from the 400 meters to the 26.2 mile marathon. All calculations entered must be in hours, minutes and seconds format. No tenths, etc. You cannot STORE calculations while in this mode. This mode will save coaches 40-60% of their preparation time it normally takes to calculate athlete's splits for workouts.

Projection mode:
While in CALCULATOR mode. Enter current “in” race or projected interval time and press ENTER. Press current interval distance or projected interval distance, then ENTER. Screen will display SPLIT, at this time enter the desired ending race distance and press ENTER. The Runners Calculator will display the Projected overall time for that given distance/race from using the current “in” race or projected interval/split. This mode is great for projecting overall times!
Example:
Summer is running the 3200m (2 mile) race. Her coach clocks her at 1:18 for her first 400m's (1 lap). Coach can use Runners Calculator and project her 3200m time. In CALCULATOR mode enter 1:18 and press ENTER. Press the 400m button and ENTER. Press the 2 mile button and ENTER. Runners Calculator will display 10:28. Summer would run 3200m's in 10:28 if she kept her 1:18 average per lap.

Athlete mode:
Choose ATHLETE mode and then ENTER. In the ATHLETE mode, a stored athlete's name or NEW will appear. Use the up/down arrow keys to select NEW.

Once you enter inputs and press STORE, ALL available splits for your desired goal distance will appear. For example if you entered 5K as your desired goal distance, the following splits will appear. 100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1 mile and 2 mile. If entered the Marathon as your desired goal distance the following splits will appear. 100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 800, 1000, 1200, 1 mile, 2 mile, 5K, 5 mile, 10K, 8 mile, 10 mile, 13.1 mile and 20 mile. Once stored, your goal distance splits are always available for your workouts. No more guessing or figuring out your splits. To store another athlete press MODE and follow same sequence.

You can only store one desired goal distance/time for each athlete. If an athlete has multiple distances, you will need to store each distance/time separately. Example: Denise runs the 800m, 1600m and the 2 mile races. You could store 3 events for her. 1) DENISE8 2) DENISE16 3) DENISE2

Coaches can store splits for up to 20 athletes. If teams have more than 20, the coach can assign by groups. Example GROUP1, GROUP2, etc.
Stopwatch mode:
Choose STOPWATCH mode then ENTER. Use START to start chronograph and STOP to stop time. CLR to clear/reset stopwatch. Stopwatch will run while in another mode if necessary. While in the STOPWATCH mode you can start the stopwatch and press MODE and monitor athletes in the ATHLETE or CALCULATOR modes.

Example: Summer is going for a school record in the 1600 meter race. Her times/splits are stored in the ATHLETE mode. Start stopwatch and then go back and follow her progress from the saved times/splits in the ATHLETE mode. Starting from the 100m, you can follow her progress and see if she is on pace to break the school record.

Meter buttons are BLUE. Mile buttons are RED.
Our Runners Calculator will save you time.
